Fourni, perched at 400 m., is a linear agglomeration, consisting of 8 residential properties. The road ends when reaching the third house. You can access to the other houses through paths and courtyards. The agglomeration composition and form was established during the Interwar period, and remains unchanged till today.

The nearest village, Episkepsi, located among olive trees, has magnificent manors, picturesque houses and alleys with stone steps. There is a mini market for the bare essentials and a few barbecue taverns. Within 4,2 km and at a 37 km distance from Corfu Town lies the Acharavi village, built on a plain with particularly dense vegetation. Mostly impressive is its 8 km sand beach , one of the largest in Corfu. Here you can find super markets, restaurants, pharmacies, bike and car rentals and many shops to meet all your needs during your stay in Corfu.

Fourni is also surrounded by a lot of interesting upland villages, such as Lafki, Petalia, Strinyla with great food and wine, Spartyla with the formidable view, Klimatia and Nymphes with their running water and magnificent falls, and Old Perithia, a traditional abandoned village, recently partially restored, with stone alleyways and houses, and numerous churches and manors.

In this village the visitor feels like time has stopped. Of course, one should not fail to visit the Holy monastery of Pantokrator (Transfiguration of the Savior), located at the island’s highest point (920 m) on the top of Mount Pantokrator, from where one can enjoy, when the weather allows it, the view of the whole island of Corfu and the Albanian coast. The walkers often organize trips to visit the mountain through beautiful, well-maintained trails, where they can enjoy nature’s splendor.
