At half the distance of the road connecting Episkepsi and St.Panteleimon villages, starts a 600 m. winding road, among centenary olive trees, leading to <b>Fourni.<\/b>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243; el_class=&#8221;section_right&#8221; conditional_render=&#8221;%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;p16&#8243;]<b>Fourni<\/b>, perched at 400 m., is a linear agglomeration, consisting of 8 residential properties. The road ends when reaching the third house. You can access to the other houses through paths and courtyards. The agglomeration composition and form was established during the Interwar period, and remains unchanged till today.<\/p>\n<p>The nearest village, <b>Episkepsi<\/b>, located among olive trees, has magnificent manors, picturesque houses and alleys with stone steps. There is a mini market for the bare essentials and a few barbecue taverns. Within 4,2 km and at a 37 km distance from <b>Corfu<\/b> Town lies the <b>Acharavi<\/b> village, built on a plain with particularly dense vegetation. Mostly impressive is its <b>8 km<\/b> sand beach , one of the largest in <b>Corfu<\/b>. The whole north coast is easily reachable: Sidari, with its impressive formations of sedimentary rocks, <strong>St Spyridon<\/strong> with <strong>Antinioti<\/strong>, the protected lagoon, <strong>Kassiopi<\/strong> and <strong>Kouloura<\/strong> with their picturesque bays and their crystal clear waters, as well as the whole north-eastern and north-western coast with a plethora of beaches for any taste.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243; el_class=&#8221;section_right&#8221; conditional_render=&#8221;%5B%7B%22value_role%22%3A%22administrator%22%7D%5D&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;p16&#8243;]<b>Fourni<\/b> is also surrounded by a lot of interesting upland villages, such as <b>Lafki, Petalia, Strinyla<\/b> with great food and wine, <b>Spartyla<\/b> with the formidable view, <b>Klimatia and Nymphes<\/b> with their running water and magnificent falls, and <b>Old Perithia<\/b>, a traditional abandoned village, recently partially restored, with stone alleyways and houses, and numerous churches and manors.<\/p>\n<p>In this village the visitor feels like time has stopped. Of course, one should not fail to visit the <b>Holy monastery of Pantokrator (Transfiguration of the Savior)<\/b>, located at the island\u2019s highest point (920 m) on the top of Mount <b>Pantokrator<\/b>, from where one can enjoy, when the weather allows it, the view of the whole island of <b>Corfu<\/b> and the Albanian coast.
